Aquaworld Water Park is one of the most popular aquaparks in Budapest and one of the biggest indoor water theme parks in Europe. It is a perfect destination for families, as it offers a variety of attractions for both kids and adults. With its numerous slides, children’s areas, saunas for adults, swimming pools, outside pools, and a deep pool, Aquaworld Budapest is heaven for water lovers.

What’s On at Aquaworld Water Park

Aquaworld Water Park offers attractions for everyone. It offers Jacuzzi, big slides, saunas for relaxation, children’s pools and a dry playground, swimming pools and more.

Water Slides

Adrenaline seekers can find 11 giant water slides at Aquaworld Water Park: Mountain River, Onion Slide, Family Slide, UFO Slide, Rainbow, Black Hole, Kamikaze, and Flying Carpet. Some water slides are easy, like the Family Slide, perfect for younger children, while others provide an adrenaline rush to kids and adults of all ages.

Some slides require a single or double waterpark tube or a sliding carpet, and a minimum body height. Honestly, I’m scared of slides, so I tried only the Family Slide once. That’s the easiest, while my son did it – and enjoyed – it a lot.

Children Areas

The main reason I chose Aquaworld Water Park in Budapest is because of the many children’s areas, which are open also in winter. Apart from the Family Slide, there is a swimming pool with smaller slides dedicated to younger kids until 6. Here, kids can play in the water under the watchful eye of their parents.

Plus, the Bongo Kids Club is a dry playhouse with a climbing wall where qualified childcare providers supervise the children. The staff speak English, so there is no need to know Hungarian for your kids to enjoy this space while you can try the saunas.

Sauna World: A Perfect Way to Relax (Adults Only)

Aquaworld Water Park has a separate sauna area for adults called Sauna World. It’s one of Budapest’s largest sauna facilities. Children up to 14 years are not allowed to use the saunas; teens from 14 to 18 can use the saunas in the area with swimsuit.

There are two areas in Sauna World: one with swimsuit and one without, for adults only. If you’re not used to get a sauna don’t worry. There is a proper sauna etiquette. Private parts of the body must be covered in passageways, and all the guests should assume a decent posture in the saunas.

Sauna World includes traditional Finnish saunas, Russian Sauna, Steam Cabin, Aroma Sauna, and more. There are also a Tepidarium, a Salt Chamber, known for its therapeutic properties, and some cold area, such as Ice Chambers and Kneipp Pool. The sauna area is the perfect place to get relieved from everyday stress and tension, or to relax without children after a day of fun in the water.

Deep Pool and Swimming Pool

Aquaworld Water Park has also a deep pool for diving, suitable for those who want to practice their dive skills. There is also an swimming pool with swimming lanes, perfect if you want to swim.

Useful Information about Aquaworld Water Park

I totally recommend to spend a day at Aquaworld Water Park when in Budapest, especially if you travel with your family. You don’t have to bring your own food, the indoor restaurant serves great Hungarian food at average prices.

The daily ticket does not include towels, but you can rent them at the entrance. Before changing your clothes in the changing rooms, remember that they are mixed with rotating cabins. Only the bathrooms and showers are divided by gender.

If you want to spend more time at Aquaworld Water Park you can sleep at the Aquaworld Resort, in the same structure. From the hotel, you can directly access to the water park free of charge.

Summer vs Winter: When is the Best Time to Visit

Budapest has plenty of spas and baths open to children to choose from. Summer is the peak season for Aquaworld Water Park, as it is crowded with tourists and locals alike. However, all the swimming pools outside are open during this season, which makes it perfect if you want to enjoy the sun.

In winter, the aquapark is less crowded. The outdoor pool with hot water is open, and it’s very charming when the temperature outside is 0 degrees Celsius. We chose Aquaworld because it is the only facility that keeps almost all the children’s areas open during winter, including the Bongo Club, a dry area where you can leave your kids while you take a sauna.

Prices and Opening Hours: Everything You Need to Know

Aquaworld Water Park is open every day from 7 am to 9 pm. The ticket price varies depending on your age, how long you want to stay and what activities you want to do. The entrance ticket to the water park includes Saunaworld and Bongo Kids Club playhouse.

The standard ticket price for adults is HUF 9,500, approximately €25. The cost for children is HUF 4,900, around €12. You can also buy a convenient family ticket, available for various family compositions: two adults and two children, two adults and one child, one adult and two children.

If you want to be sure to enter, especially during summer, I recommend buying your tickets in advance online on the Aquaworld Water Park website. However, online ticket purchase is not possible on the day of purchase.

Hot to Get to Aquaworld Water Park

Aquaworld Water Park is in the northern part of Budapest, in a newly developed neighbourhood called Ujpest (New Pest). You can reach the water park easily by metro and bus, then walk for a few minutes from the centre of Budapest.

If you arrive by car, Aquaworld is close to the M0 motorway ring. In front of the hotel, there is a non-guarded open-air car park free of charge.

Where to stay in Budapest

Budapest offers a wide range of beautiful hotels to choose from. Hampton By Hilton Budapest City Centre (here my review) is located in the heart of Budapest, just 600 metres from St. Stephen’s Basilica. They offer a delicious breakfast and have a restaurant and a bar on-site. For those looking for a hotel with unique and stunning decor, Stories Boutique Hotel is a 4-star property situated 500 meters away from the Hungarian State Opera. They have a restaurant on-site that serves à la carte, a continental or vegetarian breakfast. If you prefer an aparthotel, Zoya Luxury Residence is an excellent option with units with a coffee machine, a dishwasher, a microwave and parking space.

In conclusion, Aquaworld Water Park in Budapest is the ultimate aquapark destination for families. Whether you visit during summer or winter, there is something for everyone: slides, children’s areas, saunas, deep pool, swimming pools, and outside pools. Feel free to comment if you already know Aquaworld Water Park or if it’s now your next destination with your family in Budapest.
