Roarr! Dinosaurs Theme Park: The Ultimate Jurassic Adventure in Norfolk
Roarr! is a popular dinosaur-themed amusement park located at Lenwade, just 10 miles northeast of Norwich, previously known as Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure. The park spans over 85 acres of land and is home to more than 100 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, making it the perfect destination for dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages.
The park has different zones, each with its own unique set of attractions. One of the park’s main attractions is the Valley of the Dinosaur Trail. On this thrilling trail, you can see full-size dinosaurs standing tall, growling, and moving as they walk past. I loved that, unlike other similar dinosaur-themed parks or exhibitions, Roarr! is scientifically accurate, making it a must-visit for anyone studying the dinosaur era at school.
Roarr! offers plenty of activities for both children and adults. The outdoor and indoor play areas are exceptional, with a wide range of equipment for climbing, sliding, swinging, balancing, or just running around. The splash area is perfect for hot summer days, where kids can cool off and have fun running in and out of the water. On days when the weather is not so good, the large indoor play area is a great option, especially as there is a cafe where adults can grab a coffee and a piece of cake while the kids play.
In addition to the exciting dinosaur-themed attractions, the park also boasts a small farm with some animals that children can feed and pet. Roarr! hosts regular events that cater to all ages and interests, from educational workshops to fun-filled family activities that you can check on the website.
Discover the Exciting Rides and Activities at Roarr!
The park offers a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. The dinosaurs are amazing; you can find them throughout the park in life-sized models. The best place to see them is along the Valley of the Dinosaur Trail, where you’ll find most of them, along with information plaques to learn more about them.
I recommend visiting Roarr! on a good weather day, as most of the park is outdoors. My son loved a lot the Outdoor Adventure Play playground that is truly impressive. However, I am sure any kid will love exploring the different areas of the park despite the weather. During our visit, it was very sunny and hot for British summer weather, so we enjoyed playing in the Dippy’s Splash Zone with water games. My son particularly enjoyed racing in Dippy’s Raceway, which features go-karts for both young and old.
Here are some of the popular attractions at the park:
- Valley of the Dinosaur Trail: a walk through the woodland area and witness various species of dinosaurs in their natural habitat.
- Outdoor Adventure Play: a massive outdoor playground featuring rope bridges and climbing logs.
- Dippy’s Splash Zone: a water play area for children of all ages.
- Dippy’s Raceway: a track with go-karts that people of all ages can enjoy.
- Dinomite Indoor Play: a large indoor playground features a ball pit and climbing places.
In addition, the park offers a variety of small playgrounds scattered all around, such as the Pterodactyl’s Treehouse and the Climb-a-Sauros, which my son loved a lot.
There are also fun activities for children, like fossil hunting and digging in the sandboxes. These activities are perfect for kids interested in learning about dinosaurs and their history. There is also a theatre inside the park, but we didn’t go to the show because there were plenty of things to do outside, and my son didn’t want to stop.
Useful Information for Visiting the Roarr! Dinosaurs Park
When visiting Roarr!, you should keep a few things in mind to ensure that you have a fun and comfortable experience. Firstly, wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as you’ll be walking around a lot. Also bring a costume and a change of clothes if you want to play in the splash area.
The park is quite expansive, with many attractions spread out across it. As many attractions are outdoors, it’s also a good idea to bring sunscreen and hats to protect yourself from the sun in the summer.
Around the park, there are several food outlets that offer gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan options. However, to save money on food, consider packing a picnic to eat in the designated areas.
Tickets and Opening Time
Roarr! ticket prices are determined by height. It means that adults and children over 90cm tall pay the same amount of £15.95. If your child is under 90cm, they get in for free. You can purchase your tickets online or at the counter on the day of your visit.
I totally recommend booking your tickets in advance to make your visit as smooth as possible. It will save you time and help you avoid long queues at the entrance, especially during busy school holidays.
It’s also important to note that the park’s opening and operational hours vary depending on the season, so it’s always a good idea to check their website for the most up-to-date information.
