Hello! I’m Paola Bertoni, the voice behind Paola Everywhere. Originally from Turin, Italy, I’ve had the incredible fortune of living in England, working in France, and even embracing the digital nomad lifestyle in Thailand, all before returning to Italy (though I can’t guarantee I’ll stay here forever).
As a single mom, my son travels everywhere with me, making our explorations even more special. However, our travels aren’t the typical family-friendly adventures; we visit science, transport, and technology museums, embark on long road trips, board planes for short city breaks, immerse ourselves in local cultures, try new foods, and basically do everything you wouldn’t expect to do with a kid.

I’m fluent in three languages—Italian, English, and French—and I am currently diving into Spanish and Hungarian.
I have a passion for aviation that developed later in life, after I turned 40. It all began when I decided to try piloting at a local aeroclub. At 1,000 feet, I realized I wanted to learn more, so I started studying for my pilot’s license online and eventually enrolled in a proper flying institute.
The feeling of taking off fills me with an incredible sense of freedom and happiness. I also share this passion with my son, who dreams of becoming a pilot himself. Additionally, I take pride in being one of the few travel bloggers who writes extensively about aviation museums worldwide.

When I’m not soaring through the skies, you’ll likely find me swimming, cycling, or running. I love staying active, even if I occasionally indulge my lazy side! While I tend to avoid trekking, I find those activities surprisingly enjoyable. If you read about mountainous treks or scenic walks on the blog, I can assure you those were not my ideas!

My Travel Story
I began my travel journey relatively late, at almost 30. But once I took that first step, I never looked back. From solo adventures in Southeast Asia to exploring Europe with friends and gaining work experience in France and England, I’ve embraced every type of accommodation imaginable—from budget hostels to luxurious five-star hotels. Each journey has been filled with fun and invaluable lessons.
After my son was born, our travels continued by plane and with long road trips across Europe. One of our most memorable adventures was when he was four; we roamed all summer through France, Belgium, and England in a campervan, creating unforgettable memories.

My Mission and Values
Currently, I travel with my son during his school holidays, and alone or with fellow bloggers for work and press trips. Recently, I’ve started travelling with other single parents, which has been amazing. I truly believe everyone can travel, and inspiring other parents with my passion for exploration is a rewarding experience.
My latest adventure involves becoming a travel coordinator, sharing my experiences with people who want to explore the world with peers. It’s a fantastic way to visit new places and meet new friends. If you’re in doubt about it, you should try!

My Work as a Blogger
In 2016, after moving to England, I started my first travel blog in Italian, Pasta Pizza Scones, to document my expat experiences. To my surprise, I gained many followers who were curious about the quirky aspects of British culture.
My blog led to successful partnerships with tourist boards, hotel chains, and others, allowing me to share my experiences. I also created a community for newbie Italian travel bloggers called Travel Blogger Italiane, which blossomed into an online magazine.
Then Paola Everywhere emerged as a side project, allowing me to reach an international audience and challenge myself to write in English. This decision has opened countless doors, connecting me with new people worldwide and enriching my life through travel. I couldn’t be more glad!
